Life is sometimes a pain...

I have really put a lot of thought into whether or not to even blog about my daily struggles with chronic pain and Fibro, but a very helpful friend tells me that if it weren't for her daily blog and the friends she has gained from it, as well as Facebook, she just doesn't know how she would be where she is today. So I have finally decided to give it a shot.

I hate when I'm right... sometime Sunday I began feeling anxiety and I've become very in tune to when I'm about to have a "fibro flare" and I knew one was coming. Now my wonderful hubby and I have had plans set to escape to a very nice hotel, for some much needed and deserved relaxation time for our 1st "annimoon" .  We were married Nov. 6th last year and weren't able to take a honeymoon, so we created our own new tradition this year (anniversary + honeymoon=annimoon) So we set off Tuesday, after going to vote, for our planned 2 night, 3 day stay...  I was feeling totally wiped out and completely guilty. Here we never get time to ourselves and I just want to sink into a hot bath and pile in bed. The next day was pretty much the same, except I realized just how lucky I was, when he said that this is just what he had in mind for our "annimoon" to just lay around, relax, and be stress-free. Once home, my flare has rapidly increased and at times the pain has become nearly unbearable, and he has been right there offering words of compassion and concern, helping with what he can, and just being the best! I already knew he has always tried to be understanding and supportive through all my bad days and even mystery sicknesses, but to see his patience through a week that we should be celebrating each other and enjoying the time together has meant more to me than anything. I am such a lucky lady and I hope a day never passes that I can somehow express how thankful I am, how happy he makes me, and that I love him more than words can ever express.

Football Picks

7-1 last week (almost got the LSU upset of Bama, but great last drive by the Tide) for a season total of 60-24(71.4%). New week and new picks (heh)

Florida 'battles' UL Lafayette at the Swamp: Scrimmage time before watching to see if Auburn can upset Georgia. FL by 35

Missouri is at Tennessee: Both have to win to go to a bowl. Missouri's offense is banged up, but UT's defense plays like an anti-offense; should be a high scoring affair and I like UT's chances at home with Brey on fire. UT by 10

Mississippi State is at LSU: MSU started 7-0 (should have lost to UT grumble) and everyone was jumping on the bandwagon, after getting pounded for two straight weeks, the bulldogs are looking for a doctor. LSU will be MAD after letting Alabama escape them last week. With MSU's defense looking sub-par and LSU finding an offense, things won't go well. LSU by 15

Vanderbilt at Ole Miss: Both teams need this, but both can lose and still go bowling (it would be the first time in school history for Vandy to go to back-to-back bowls). Ole Miss deflated last week against Georgia and Vandy got Joker Phillips fired from Kentucky. Vandy is playing better, but this game is at Ole Miss, edge. Miss by 3

Arkansas at South Carolina: Ark can still get to a bowl after their abysmal start; SC is trying to make a BCS bowl. SC has way too much for the razorbacks to handle, SC by 7

Georgia at Auburn: AU playing for pride, Georgia for a trip to the SEC title game (against Bama 99%); AU put together a great 2nd half last week (against New Mexico St natch) and so did Georgia. Pride loses to SEC title game, UGA by 18

Texas A&M at Alabama: Bama's defense showed that they have holes, lots of holes. Johnny football and the Aggies have offensive firepower in spades. Can A&M stop the Tide's offense, can they score when in the redzone (LSU couldn't). I think they can (some) but not enough. Bama by 3

Football Picks

3-4 last week (grumble)  UT almost pulled it off ( why did I pick Kentucky??? ) and Ole Miss 'upset' Arkansas. 53-23 (69.7%) on the year.

Missouri at Florida: UF lost to Georgia and offense didn't show up; Mizzou beat up on poor ole Kentucky; this one is at Florida and they should be plenty mad. UF by 12

Vanderbilt at Kentucky: Vandy by 20 ugh

Texas A&M at Miss. St: A&M won big last week, State didn't even show up for their game against Bama, A&M keeps it rolling and State slides further back: Aggies by 8

Troy at Tennessee: If UT wins out (and wins a bowl game) they get 8 wins, that MIGHT be enough for Dooley to stay; they start out on the right foot this week; UT by 25

Tulsa at Arkansas: Trap game, Arkansas barely lost to Ole Miss last week and are playing much better, Tulsa has an offense to be scared of; Arkansas at home and needing to win out... Ark by 20

New Mexico State at Auburn: Pillow fight of the week; new starter for Auburn, almost time for a new coach; they should rock this game though: AU by 20

Ole Miss at Georgia: Florida needs Ole Miss to upset the Dawgs to get back to Atlanta, Georgia had a hell of a game last week, can they keep it up?  At home, Georgia by 3

Alabama at LSU: Game of the Year (like the last 2); Bama is cruising, LSU has no offense; The Tigers get it done and knock their way into the title chase: LSU by 3

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Football Picks

6-0 last week (yay? Wish UT woulda beat Bama so I'd be 5-1 heh) so 50-19 (72.5% still bad but improving)

UMass is at Vandy: Vandy gets one step closer to a 2nd straight bowl game this week; The Dores open up everything they have and crush UMass by 22

Kentucky is at Missouri: Both teams stunk it up last (but Ky did play a close game against a real good Georgia team) and Mizzou is without it's top threat. I can't believe I'm writing this, but KY in the upset by 1

Ole Miss is at Arkansas: If this game was at home, Mississippi would be an easy pick, but it's not and Arkansas seems to be playing good football lately. Homefield and some breaks give this one to Ark by 5

Texas A&M is at Auburn: Can AU stop the slide? Will Chizik be there next week? I've been burned a couple times (both ways, natch) picking AU so I'll just go safe and take A&M and their offense this week. TA&M by 10

Tennessee at South Carolina: This game may decide Dooley's career (or lack of) at UT. The head ball coach has said that Shaw will play 'no matter what' unless he gets hurt. I like the UT offense against the battered SC defense, but the game will come down to UT's defense ability (or lack) to stop SC any. With Shaw not looking over his shoulder, his confidence should be sky high.

I think UT's players will rally around the coach and make life miserable for SC: UT in an upset by 3

Mississippi St at Alabama: GOY? The bulldogs are 7-0 for the first time since 1898 (kidding) and on a roll heading into #1 Alabama. They will play a spirited and emotional game, for about 3 quarters. Unfortunately Alabama will play all 4 quarters: Bama by 13

Florida vs Georgia at 'The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party'* for basically the east crown (for UF, UGA needs more if they win) and a cemented slot as the #2 team in the nation behind bama (gators).  Georgia needed help to beat Kentucky last week while Florida destroyed SC: Florida takes it and cruises to the SEC title game against Bama by 12

Football Picks

5-1 last week (much better but ACK! Tennessee) Season: 44-19 (69.8% still bad)

UT vs Alabama this week (3rd Saturday in October) -- Ala big favorites and our defense is getting pummeled. Offense should move the ball on that #1 defense, but I don't think we can stop them :(  Ala by 15

LSU at Texas A&M: LSU is back in the title hunt with the win over SC and A&M is rolling on offense; however, only 1 team has a defense in this game :  LSU by 7

Auburn a touchdown dog to Vanderbilt, yep it's happening: Vandy gets a needed win and Auburn slides further: Vandy by 6

South Carolina after that very hard game at LSU gets to go to Florida: Florida is playing at championship caliber and SC might be without Lattimore... FL by 8

Georgia at Kentucky: if this was basketball... it's not: UGA by 28

Middle Tennessee St at Mississippi State: Trap game for MSU, they beat UT last weekend and have #1 Ala next; should be sloppy but they pull it out in the 2nd half: MSU by 13

No cheerleader this week; deal with it

Football Picks

1-5 last week (yes I got kicked out of the 'He-man Woman Haters Club' for that) season total 39-18 (68.4%) got to be the worst I've ever done picking football ><  sheesh

New week, new pics (and hopefully new luck)

Tennessee is at Mississippi State and State is undefeated with an awesome defense; won't matter, UT takes it to the dogs and wins by 10

Auburn at Ole Miss (Ole Miss disappointed me last week): Auburn couldn't beat the Alabama school for the Blind's women's squad right now; Ole Miss will FINALLY win an SEC game (by 15)

Alabama is at Missouri: Mizzou lost to Vandy last week, ugly game; Alabama is #1 and rolling.  I think Mizzou will show up and play great, too bad they don't stand a chance: Ala by 20

Florida at Vandy; this game seems to always be close, not this time; Florida by 20

Kentucky at Arkansas: Ark sux, but they are better than Auburn and Kentucky combined :)  Ark by 17

South Carolina at LSU: Defense-bowl; SC at least has an offense and should win this going away; somehow I think Les gets it together and LSU wins by 3
Beat that La Tech!

Texas A&M at La Tech (postponed game for week 1): La Tech is undefeated, usually can't say that except in pre-season :)  A&M is rolling with a eek win at Ole Miss last week. La Tech gets the boot this week and A&M wins easy (+10)

Football Picks

5-1 last week (of course, NOW Missouri wins ...) for a season of 38-13(74.5% still bad)...

BIG SEC weekend this weekend, even with Tennessee on a bye week.

Arkansas travels to Auburn; first one to get a 3 and out on the other wins :)  Auburn by 5
Miss State is at Kentucky; in basketball this would be awesome, in football, not so much; MSU by 20

LSU at Florida (dun dun dunnnn): is this where LSU finally gets the offense going and matches their defense? Is this the start of a national run by Florida? It's in the swamp and should be a great game; I think LSU eeks out the win by 1

Vandy at Missouri: Missou gets it's SEC win today, by 10
Texas A&M at Ole Miss: A&M is rolling and Ole Miss played a good game against Bama last week.  At home, with 'momentum' Ole Miss pulls the upset by 3

Georgia at South Carolina (double dun dun dunnns): this is big game #2 and should be awesome; Georgia is the more complete team, but Tennessee showed that they can be pushed around on defense. SC has Lattimore and Shaw to push that Georgia defense around, but, there's no way that SC will contain the freshman running backs from Georgia long enough. UGA by 2

Football Picks

Went 8-2 last week for a season of 33-12 (73.3% still awful) because Arkansas still sucks and I thought Missouri was a baller ... sigh.

Tennessee moved a little in the polls again: ESPN Power #28 (NR), AP #38(35), Coaches #39(40).
On to the picks (not many games this week):

Arkansas is at Texas A&M: Arky is on suicide watch and A&M is rolling; A&M by 14
Missouri travels to UCF and hopes to get back on track against non-SEC comp.: UCF stuns Mizzou by 3
South Carolina travels to Kentucky: Kentucky is thinking basketball, SC by 20
Towson at LSU: cupcake city, LSU by 50
Ole Miss is on fire heading to Alabama: Ala will put that fire out, emphatically: Bama by 30
Hope I'm wrong
Tennessee heads to Georgia: Tennessee will play much better than they did against Florida and this game will be high-scoring and close, but I think Georgia has a little too much for us :(  Georgia by 4

Friday, September 21, 2012

Football Picks

9-3 last week for a season total of 25-10 (71.4%) As Auburn got its first win, Kentucky got beat on a 2-point conversion and Tennessee imploded.

Tennessee dropped out of the ESPN Power poll and dropped to #35 in the AP and #40 in the coaches.

New week, new picks heh

Mississippi at Tulane: Ole Miss by 10
Kentucky at Florida: Florida by 22
Missouri at South Carolina: Upset, Missou by 6
FAU at Alabama: Ala 3rd string by 14, whole team by 48
LSU at Auburn: LSU by 20
South Alabama at Mississippi St: MSU by 13
South Carolina St at Texas A&M: A&M by 50
Rutgers at Arkansas: Closer than it should be, Ark by 3
Akron at Tennessee: bounce-back? UT by 40
Vandy at Georgia: close but no; UGA by 12

No cheerleader this week, but them's the breaks.

Football Picks

Last week was awful... for me and Arkansas :(   Went 6-5 for a total of 16-7 [69.6%] and that's horrific..

New week, new pics and hopefully a new streak. Tennessee improved ranking-wise: ESPN Power #22(was #23), AP #23 (27) and stay #29 on coach's poll (others receiving votes):

LA Monroe off the major upset of Arkansas travels to Auburn to play the worst team in the SEC. AU's defense can't stop anyone and their offense plays defense (heh)...  LA Monroe makes it 2 in a row over the mighty SEC. ULM 28 - AU 21

Presbyterian plays at Vandy; Vandy is 0-2 and needed that win last week at Northwestern... they get off the snide this week big.  Vandy 42 - Pres 30

Texas A&M plays at SMU: A&M is going to be a good addition to the SEC if they find out we play 4 quarters in a game (see lost leads), luckily SMU isn't an SEC school.  A&M 38 - SMU 17

Alabama at Arkansas: This was a circled game for Arkansas at the beginning; now, not so much. After Wilson getting hurt (he's supposed to play) and losing at home to UL Monroe, this will get ugly in a hurry.  Ark will score on the Bama defense, but it will be late. Ala 35 - Ark 20

UAB at South Carolina... SC 45 - UAB 7 (no matter who's the QB for SC)

Arizona State at Missouri: Mizzou looked good against Georgia last week until the final few minutes, ASU looked great last week, but this is at Mizzou.  Mizzou 43 - ASU 37

Mississippi St at Troy ... MSU 50 - Troy 19 (MSU will be 3-0 oooh)

W Kentucky at Kentucky; Two straight matches against SEC foes for WKU; this one won't be the laugher that the Ala game was, but it won't be close either.  KU 39 - WKU 20

Florida Atlantic at Georgia... Geo 41 - FAU 13

Idaho at LSU (really, Idaho??)  LSU 62 - Vandals 3

Texas at Ole Miss; Ole Miss is 2-0 for the first time in forever, they won't make 3-0; Texas 31 - Ole Miss 10
GBO!

Game of the week: Florida at Tennessee; UF has a 7 game streak against the Vols, but UT is coming in on fire on both sides of the ball, while UF has some injuries and played not so well in the 1st half of the A&M win.  Tennessee finally breaks the streak in a big way: UT 31 - UF 18

Football Picks

Ok so I totally forgot about Kentucky last week (sorry EMB) but I would have picked against them anyway :)  But I can't count that so I went 10-1 (Auburn can't stop the run, repeat that phrase, ack)
Uhh yeah, i got nothing

Tennessee has moved up in the rankings:

ESPN Power #23 (prev. #30), AP #27(33) and Coach's #29(43)

Easy games first: Tennessee over Georgia State (big), Alabama over W. Kentucky (very big), LSU over Washington (big), Arkansas over LA Monroe (err you get the idea)

A little tougher to call games: Ole Miss squeezes by UTEP (who played Oklahoma close), South Carolina holds on over East Carolina (Conor Shaw goes out of the game at least twice), Vandy holds off a game Northwestern squad (on the road too!) and Kentucky outlast Kent State (this could go either way heh)

Too close to call (coin-flip division): Texas A&M over Florida; Missouri over Georgia

Who the hell knows? game: Auburn versus Mississippi State... (Auburn can't stop the run; Mississippi State runs the ball, very well)

Auburn pulls off the upset!

Football Picks

This year I'm going to pick all the SEC games... so the picks...

Thursday night South Carolina will look lost in the 1st half and walk away in the 2nd against Vanderbilt 31-19

Friday night will have Tennessee outgunning NC State in the Georgia Dome 34-20

Saturday:

Georgia plays Buffalo (not the Bills) and wins 55-10
Florida hosts Bowling Green and finally settles on a QB : 49-3
Ole Miss at home versus Central Arkansas; should be an easy game, it won't be though: Miss 21 Cen Ark 20
Jacksonville State at Arkansas ... sheesh too much sugar in that cupcake ><  Ark 66-20
Jackson State at Mississippi State should be decent for 3 quarters: MSU 31 JSU 13
Geaux Tigers?
North Texas at LSU (ouch) LSU will roll without the Honey Badger(TM) 52-21
SE Louisiana at Missouri will be close up until the kickoff ... Missouri wins 45-6
Auburn against ranked Clemson in the Georgia Dome; should be an exciting game, can AU's defense stop the Clemson pass attack (minus their #1 reciever)? Yes, I think they can :)  AU 27 Clemson 25
Alabama versus Michigan in Dallas: Is Michigan back? Is Alabama ready to repeat? One question will be answered the other will be waiting.

Alabama 30 Michigan 17

#HarryReidisaPederast Rumor

Time to up the ante on the Harry Reid and the Dems in the Senate for the upcoming election. Issue #1 is getting rid of Obama so we can hope to stop the beast that is the EPA from dismantling our power supply and production (ie. coal, natural gas via fracking, home-drilled oil), but a very close 2nd is reclaiming the Senate.(via PowerLine)
In 2010, Nancy Pelosi became a campaign issue that helped to nationalize House races. Because of her lack of ability, her extremism and her personal unlikability, Pelosi became, and remains, deeply unpopular with the American people. So in many House races, Republican candidates used the fact that Democratic opponents had voted for Pelosi as Speaker, or intended to do so, against them.
It is beginning to appear that Harry Reid may play a similar role in 2012. Reid is an excellent candidate for the part. Like Pelosi, his mental skills are unimpressive and his personality is grating at best. Also like Pelosi, his record as leader of the Senate is impossible to defend. The only difference is that until now, Reid has maintained a somewhat lower profile.
If we can use Harry like we did SanFranNan, then he will have finally helped his country turn the corner on this bad economy. It's a fitting tribute to the man who may or may not be a pederast (but he won't tell us ...).

Now even my computer doesn't trust the Dems  [click the pic to embiggen it :)  and you'll see the address I was attempting to connect to]

Rumors are Evil

This is what happens when you let things get out:
An assistant cheerleading coach at an Indianapolis high school was arrested last week after police say she performed sexual acts on a 17-year-old male student, Fox59.com reported. Megan Crafton, 22, who reportedly lists herself as engaged on her Facebook page, allegedly performed sex acts on the student inside her vehicle at a supermarket parking lot, the report said.
If you would just keep your mouth shut ... heh

From the Email and other sources

As you well know, some of us have been known to have had rare brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years.
A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many beers and some rather nice red wine. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before ... I took a bus home.
Sure enough I passed a roadblock but as it was a bus they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got it from! If you know of anybody missing a bus please let me know so I can arrange to return it.
All pics from HookersandBooze (new to me) and the paragraph from the email. Click the pics to see the stuff in case you can't read very fine print heh

Recently played a few games on Caldera (warzone) and then... Lots of luck in this one, but satisfying
