Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot Canceled

Read more at their forums or at http://machinegunshoot.com

This spring's Machine Gun Shoot scheduled for April 11-13 at Knob Creek Range in Kentucky has been canceled due to flooding. There has just been too much rain in the last month. (Kentucky is already at the same amount of rain as we had in June of last year.) This means that a great part of the lower areas at KCR is underwater. This includes the lower parking area, lower gun range and the Jungle Walk. Even if waters did recede in time, the ground would still be too saturated for walking, much less parking.

This is the only entrance/exit to the range. Normally that water is about 10 feet below the bridge. More pics at machinegunshoot.com

For those of you that do not know what I am talking about. Here is a video of the night shoot.

Good principle, of course but what were they going to shoot? I remember the joy of pumping rounds from an old Bren once.

I am sorry for not responding sooner, semaj.

This event brings people from all over the world. Many people shoot, buy, sell and watch. I assume you were asking what types of guns were going to be used. The variety of machine guns at this event is unbelievable. There are machine guns as old as the original hand cranked Gatling Gun to modern electric Gatling guns spewing thousands of rounds per minute. There are all sorts of military guns from WWI, WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, Desert Storm, etc. Just about any machine gun you can think of is represented there at the firing line or for sale. They also shoot Barret 50 caliber rifles, fully automatic pistols, grenade launchers and even artillery.

They also hold competitions for assault rifles and sub machine guns.

If you were asking what they shoot at, well, just about everything. Old cars, trucks, RV's, buses, boats, refrigerators, washers, driers, and lots of stuff that explodes.

KCR Machine Gun Shoot is something that everyone that supports the 2nd Amendment really needs to see at least once.
